WE FOCUS ON UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN WITH CEREBRAL PALSY AND THEIR FAMILIES
Born from the life and mission of Brazilian missionaries who chose to place their professional skills at the service of vulnerable families, Acts of Life emerged as a movement of compassion translated into action. What began through cross-cultural service has grown into a global initiative, now based in New York, with a clear commitment to both local and international impact.
Acts of Life USA exists not only to serve families in the United States, but also to support and strengthen Acts of Life initiatives around the world. In Tanzania, Acts of Life directly supports programs that provide neuro-pediatric physiotherapy for children with cerebral palsy, through the Physiotherapists Without Borders program.
This work offers specialized care to children who otherwise would have no access to rehabilitation services, while also walking alongside their families with dignity, education, and hope. In Brazil, Acts of Life supports Atos de Vida, a program focused on early intervention for children from low-income families, combining instruction, guidance, and welcoming spaces for families during the most critical years of child development.
These initiatives emphasize presence, affection, and informed care as foundations for long-term outcomes. As part of its charitable mission in the United States, Acts of Life USA also offers free educational web classes for families of children with cerebral palsy. These online sessions provide accessible information on care, development, legislation, rights, and available resources, while addressing the emotional and relational realities of family life. Education and advocacy are offered as acts of service — empowering families, strengthening their voices, and promoting inclusion within society.
Through education, advocacy, and compassionate care, Acts of Life USA serves as a bridge — connecting families, professionals, and communities across borders — promoting acts that generate life, both locally and globally.
